Rand McNally Best of the Road® Editor's Pick for 2006
Each year since 2002, Rand McNally editors have selected five drives along which you'll find places and faces that make a vacation more memorable. The "Best of the Road" section is then published in the Rand McNally Road Atlas, 2006 and online at www.randmcnally.com/bestoftheroad. In 2006, Chattanooga was included in the road trip entitled "Alabama and Tennessee: A Drive Through the Deep South". The piece highlights several Chattanooga attractions, including our neighbors the Hunter Museum of American Art and Houston Museum of Decorative Art, with Bluff View Art District chosen as the Editor's Pick because of its scenery and charm. The editor's had this to say about Bluff View Art District: "Another great area to explore is the Bluff View Art District. This charming neighborhood of museums, galleries, studio, bed-and-breakfasts and cafés sits high atop a limestone bluff along the Tennessee River just a short walk from downtown Chattanooga. After rambling around the district, many visitors head to Rembrandt's Coffee House, a European-style café offering fresh pastries, homemade chocolates and a spacious garden patio." Angela Niemeyer, General Manager of Bluff View Art District said, "Bluff View Art District strives for excellence in visual, culinary and creative arts and is proud to have been recognized in such a well-respected publication."
